It was my pleasure to carve this commissioned piece for a good friend's birthday. A mighty piece of top grade oak, which weighed a lot!
Loosely based on the face of Sylvia Pankhurst, the most socialist of the Pankhurst girls, who bravely took an anti-war stand in 1914, while her sister & mother encouraged men to sign up.
